Books (Bucky Barnes x Reader)

The silent library calmed you to an extent of not having to worry about the outside world. You skimmed through the books, trying to see which one will catch your eye. Soon enough you found one with the title of "Detective Bucky", which reminded you very much of your best friend Bucky...what a coincidence.

Without thinking much about it after, you decided to read it. You sat on the library couch, making yourself comfortable.

You were so intrigued with the book that you didn't notice 2 hours have passed and that basically Bucky was right next to you this whole time. You looked up glancing at him for a second before going back to the book. Your eyes widen when you realize it's actually Bucky.

"Bucky!" You almost screamed, scrambling to hide the book. Bucky snorted, staring at your bizarre state.

"Y-You didn't tell me you'll be coming to the library." The tremble in your voice was embarrassingly noticeable.

"You don't tell me much either, so win-win." He shrugged. He had a point.

"I see that you're getting obsessed with me." Bucky grinned, pointing at the horribly hidden book. You shamefully looked at the said book, before pulling it out to full view. He snatched the literature in his hands and skimmed through the summary, nodding occasionally.

"I didn't know you had the hots for me enough to read a book with my name in the title." He tilted his head towards you in amusement. You stuttered out an excuse, failing miserably.

"D-Did not." Your face turned red in embarrassment.

"C'mon, don't be shy!" He snickered, poking your thigh.

"In your dreams." You muttered, turning away from him.

"Awh, I'm just teasing~" Bucky hugged your shoulders.

After a few more teasing seconds you grabbed your book back from his hands and went back to reading it. He laughed quietly before going to look for a book himself. The couch was big enough for a person to lay down and that's exactly what Bucky did. He settled his body on the couch, laying his head on your lap. You glanced down to him, then reading his book title.

'I Like You.'

You tilted your head in confusion, your attention now to his book.

"I didn't know you liked romance books." you questioned Bucky. He wasn't necessarily reading the book, he was actually waiting for you to read the title. Thoughts started swirling through your head, you went back to remembering if he was into romance. Not that you remembered. You stared at him, still confused. Bucky almost face palmed at the oblivious being that you are.

He suddenly stood up, setting the book beside you.

"Call me when you figure it out."
